This industry-supported workshop will introduce delegates into how Microsoft Technologies can be used to support Games Based Learning in Schools.  A variety of technologies will be explored including how the Xbox Kinect can be used to enhance thematic learning, creating content with Microsoft Kodu and getting the most out of Kinect fun labs.  Examples will be drawn from across a wide variety of age ranges including early years, primary and secondary education. As well as direct links to computing and ICT across the curriculum and particular focus will also be places on how games based learning can be used to improve attainment in literacy and numeracy.   The workshop will also take the opportunity to showcase some new free resources for teachers including the Microsoft Games Based Learning eBook, Kinect Adventures Education Resource and Kodu in the Classroom (a selection of lesson ideas and activities).
